Meet The Team

Neath Port Talbot Stroke Group was founded in 2014 and has 4 dedicated trustees. The trustees continually work in the background to enhance Neath Port Talbot Stroke Group in anyway they can. They provide weekly group meetings. Days out and activities for our members to get involved in. The most enjoyable thing they do is arrange incredible social events that everyone enjoys.

They are all volunteers and absolutely love what they do for all the group. Please ‘Meet the Team’….

Paul

Paul

Paul is a stroke survivor. Paul has had 2 strokes. The 1st in 2006 and the 2nd in 2009. His strokes have left him with sight loss and mobility issues. Paul has found since joining the group that a scooter has enhanced his life incredibly. He loves a holiday and will go at any opportunity. He also loves musicals and going to the theatre. Like all of us his biggest passion is Neath Port Talbot Stroke Group.

Emma

Emma

Emma is a stroke survivor and had her strokes in 2013. Initially she had TIA’s but these were ignored by A&E as they thought she was too young. So please don’t ignore a funny turn. Emma’s son was just 5 when it happened and he was the impetus that drove her recovery. Emma loves work which she has returned to but her passion is volunteering, both at NPTSG and Greyhound Rescue Wales.

Helena

Helena

Helena is a Mum to a stroke survivor at our group. Her husband Mel is also a dedicated volunteer with us. Helena has a huge knowledge of stroke and brain injury and has so much to offer the group. She is a extremely family orientated and incredibly sociable. She’s absolutely fantastic to chat to.

Maureen

Maureen

Maureen is our most recent trustee and she’s amazing. Maureen is a carer for her husband Richard, who had a stroke in 2017. Maureen is our trusted treasurer and runs a savings club at group for all our members to save for event costs, Christmas or a rainy day. She also volunteers for the Stroke Association and is a masive assset to us.
