In our May lockdown delivery, Jason had the amazing idea of a Sunflower growing competition. We included in our delivery to our 77 members, 7 sunflower seeds, compost and pots (for those that don’t have a garden).
Everybody loved it and took to work growing these beautiful flowers.
We had some hilarious entries as well as some very serious competitors who took to measuring theirs daily.
Jon incredibly grew a strawberry plant!! Jeanette his wife swapped his seeds LOL.
Gail and Conrad’s seeds didn’t grow – they didn’t plant the seeds (they thought the seeds were already in the compost) but religiously watered their compost LOL.
Susan grew some marigolds…on closer inspection of her photo she cheated!! She placed 2 marigold gloves on stakes in her garden.
Huw grew his with multiple heads.
The overall winner was Phil T. His measured over 8 foot 6 inches and didn’t we hear about it!
